shadcn/ui MCP Server in Cursor

Cursor speaks MCP natively — shadimage shows up as a tool source next to the built-in agent tools. Setup takes under a minute:

  1. 1

    Open Cursor Settings → MCP & Integrations (or edit ~/.cursor/mcp.json directly).

  2. 2

    Add the shadimage server:

    ~/.cursor/mcp.json

    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "shadimage": {
          "url": "https://shadimage.com/api/mcp"
        }
      }
    }
  3. 3

    Enable the server and start a new agent chat — search_components, get_component, compare_components and get_library are available immediately.

Then ask your agent

“Find a shadcn hero block with a glass-blur effect, compare the top three, and install the winner.”
